In the old coal basement of the gallery, the audience waited in the dark for the performance. I came down the steps holding a lit sparkler. I walked through the group of people. The space was dim, and with each step, the sparkler illuminated the area around me. When I reached the opposite wall, a work emerged from the darkness: a text collage reading “Intelligence of Love is Here.”
